Alix Earle and her sister, Ashtin Earle , revealed in Netflix’s “Earle Meets World” that they tested positive for a BRCA2 genetic change after their mother, Alisa Maniaci , was diagnosed with breast cancer. The sisters received the results on camera after meeting with genetic counselor Pankti Doshi, months after Alisa’s diagnosis. Alix, 25, said she and Ashtin, 23, tried to stay hopeful while waiting for the test results, but admitted that fear was unavoidable. When Doshi delivered the news, Alisa became emotional and apologized to her daughters, while Alix and Ashtin reassured their mom that she did not need to take the blame. The Earle Family Faced the Results Together Alix told Ashtin that knowing their results meant they could support each other and stay informed. Alisa also encouraged both daughters, telling them that the family would remain strong and could be proactive about their health. At the “Earle Meets World” premiere on Sept. 1, Alix said the family was focused on supporting one another rather than performing for the cameras during the appointment. Alix described the experience as a powerful part of the series, which documents the family’s personal lives as events unfolded; “Earle Meets World” is now streaming on Netflix.
