Beni Rae Harmony was named an assistant White House press secretary on Friday by the Donald Trump administration. The 24 year old journalist previously covered the White House as a senior correspondent for Real America’s Voice, a role she began in September 2025. Harmony confirmed the move on X after TMZ first reported that she had been recruited for the administration. In her announcement, Harmony said she was grateful for the opportunity and planned to keep advocating for the concerns of everyday Americans while serving what she called the American Dream. Who Is Filling the White House Press Gap? Harmony joins a communications team still searching for a permanent press secretary after Karoline Leavitt left the position at the end of August. Leavitt, who was 27 when she took the job in January 2025, became the youngest White House press secretary in history. Leavitt said the demanding schedule made it difficult to give enough time to her two young children after welcoming her daughter, Viviana “Vivi” Riccio, in May 2026. Trump said Leavitt would remain an outside adviser and influential Republican voice, while Vice President JD Vance and other administration officials continue handling press briefings during the vacancy.
