The Asian Contents & Film Market, the official market of the Busan International Film Festival, has finalized its 2026 program for its four day run, with generative AI and microdramas positioned as major themes. The market announcement arrived September 21, 2026, ahead of the event in Busan. InnoAsia leads the technology push, bringing together 44 organizations and companies across 11 programs. The lineup includes a partnership with Kling AI, plus sessions on AI filmmaking at Eyeline, cinematic AI, creator training, and the future of emerging media. Microdramas Are Getting a Bigger Stage ACFM will also examine the rapid growth of short form storytelling through sessions on microdramas in China and other markets. Another program will track how viral microdramas can expand into feature films and broader intellectual property franchises, because apparently the tiny screen is now feeding the very big screen. The four day market will span eight venues and seven sections, including The A, Asian Project Market, Busan Story Market, InnoAsia, Producer Hub, Doc Square, and Platform Busan. Thailand will serve as Country of Honor with five genre projects in a new Thai remake category, while Japan will be the Focus Country, bringing 10 producers to a pitch showcase organized with Vipo. Producer Hub will also cover streaming, short form platforms, international production strategies, a Brazil and Korea coproduction model, and the debut of a morning networking session. Elsewhere, InnoAsia will present 11 works in progress, including projects connected to director Kang Yunsung and Climax Studio. Cinema by Brand will feature three film and brand collaborations selected through an open call, while The A will focus on distribution and capital, giving the market plenty of business talk to match its shiny new technology agenda.
