Busy Philipps revealed that she was diagnosed with a malignant 2.6 centimeter oligodendroglioma in February and needed two surgeries to recover. The actress underwent her first operation in March, just weeks before filming her new CBS series, “Cupertino,” and is now sharing the health crisis publicly for the first time. Busy Philipps said she did not experience obvious warning signs such as seizures. Instead, she scheduled a full MRI after seeing someone recommend the screening on Instagram, and the scan uncovered the rare tumor. The Recovery Had One Major Complication The initial brain surgery lasted five hours, but Busy Philipps was walking through the hospital within 24 hours. Her recovery then took an unexpected turn when an infection developed at the incision site. Doctors performed a second procedure to remove one of the titanium tacks placed in her skull during the first operation. Busy Philipps said she has since fully recovered and hopes discussing the experience encourages people to pay closer attention to their health and seek medical care when something feels wrong.
