David Jonsson shared a behind the scenes look at his intense superhero training on Sept. 19, less than two months after Marvel announced him as the new Black Panther. Jonsson will play the adult Prince T’Challa II in Black Panther 3, which is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 15, 2028. The photo carousel showed Jonsson sweating through a workout in a black Nike Pro shirt before offering a glimpse at his recovery routine. In a trailer clip, the Alien: Romulus actor stretched his wrists and neck on the floor while listening to Frank Ocean, proving even Marvel level conditioning comes with a cooldown. What Is David Jonsson Training For? Jonsson also posted a shirtless image showing defined abs and muscular arms as he walked along a palm tree lined path. The Industry star captioned the collection, “Took the rear view out, gave it gas,” then added, “Happy fall y’all,” because apparently the road to Wakanda comes with a little Instagram thirst trap. Black Panther 3 will be written and directed by Ryan Coogler, with Denzel Washington joining the cast in an undisclosed role. Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, and Winston Duke are expected to return, while Jonsson takes over the adult version of the character introduced as T’Challa’s son in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Jonsson addressed the casting at Comic Con in July, keeping story details locked down while emphasizing the significance of the role. “I don’t want to say too much because I want to let the screen do the talking,” Jonsson said, adding that the honor was entirely his.
