Ed Sheeran added former Fray frontman Isaac Slade as a surprise opening act for his Loop Tour concert in Atlanta on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The booking came after several supporting artists left the tour and Sheeran performed without an opener in Philadelphia. Sheeran had extra time to fill the slot after nor’easter conditions canceled his Massachusetts concerts the previous week. The Atlanta show originally featured Macklemore , whose departure was followed by exits from Finneas , Aaron Rowe , and Lukas Graham . Why Isaac Slade Made Sense Slade co founded the Fray and served as the Denver pop rock band’s lead singer from 2002 through 2022. Slade began a solo tour in late 2025, and Sheeran previously invited him onstage in Toronto during August to perform the Fray hit “How to Save a Life.” Slade used his Atlanta appearance to call for common ground while discussing the war in Gaza, arguing that peace requires people to acknowledge both suffering and hope. Sheeran’s Loop Tour continues in Indianapolis on October 10, but the next opening act has not been announced, leaving Slade’s return unconfirmed.
