Social worker Latiesha Dukes also testified that Clancy contacted the Aspire crisis line twice after receiving postpartum care, but was turned away because staff determined she was not suicidal enough and did not have a plan. The testimony has placed Clancy’s mental health history and access to crisis support at the center of the proceedings. Prosecutors accuse Clancy of killing Cora, Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan with exercise bands in January 2023, then injuring herself and jumping from a second-story window, which left her paralyzed. The defense argues that postpartum psychosis made Clancy legally insane, while prosecutors contend the deaths were intentional; the jury will ultimately decide whether that insanity defense meets the legal standard.
