The Wilder Blue is turning a 2023 collaboration with Luke Combs into a longer game, not a one hit moment. After Combs joined the Texas band for a cover of Steve Young’s “Seven Bridges Road” and brought the group on his 2024 stadium tour, The Wilder Blue released its 10 track album Cinco in August 2026. The exposure changed the band’s business, even if it did not create instant superstar status. Guitarist Paul Eason said Luke Combs “personally leveled us up,” helping the independent group tour more consistently across the country and invest more confidently in new music. Can Cinco Prove The Hype Has Staying Power? Zane Williams formed The Wilder Blue in 2019 after releasing seven solo albums in Texas. For Cinco , the fifth studio album and follow up to 2025’s Still in the Runnin’ , Williams, Eason, Andy Rogers, Lyndon Hughes, and Sean Rodriguez expanded their signature five part harmonies with outside songwriters and additional studio players. The album was recorded at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, with Hughes serving as chief producer and musicians including keyboardist Travis Bishop, steel guitarist Harrison Yount, and fiddle player Steve Auburn. Tracy Byrd also appears on the project, while “Sinners and Strays” pushes the band toward a faster waltz built around a Mexican desert road story that Williams described as autobiographical.
