NBA YoungBoy is facing renewed scrutiny after a more than three minute hotel hallway video from February 2018 resurfaced online Thursday night. The footage appears to show the rapper attacking his then girlfriend, identified in reports as Jania Meshell , during the incident that later led to criminal charges. The video appears to show NBA YoungBoy throwing the woman to the floor, pulling her across the hallway and preventing her from leaving. The footage also appears to show him removing her top, while a facial injury and possible bleeding can be seen; the pair eventually walks away together. The Old Case Has Receipts According to court records cited in the original reporting, prosecutors initially charged NBA YoungBoy with aggravated assault and kidnapping over the 2018 incident. He later accepted a plea deal, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor simple battery family violence, and avoided jail time. The sentence included 12 months of probation, a $1,500 fine, anger management classes and an order to stay away from the woman. Attorney Jimmy Manasseh, who represented NBA YoungBoy in the case, told TMZ that the matter was resolved years ago and characterized it as a misdemeanor, adding that the woman had reportedly sought to drop the charge and that NBA YoungBoy's probation was not revoked.
