Nicola Coughlan , Paapa Essiedu and more than 20 celebrities will auction personal and signed items beginning July 27, 2026, to fund scholarships for students in Gaza. The 10 day fundraiser is organized by Phoenix Space after the U.K. government said eligible students could study in Britain only with fully funded support. Coughlan and her “Derry Girls” co star Siobhán McSweeney donated a signed behind the scenes photo, while Essiedu is offering his personal copy of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.” Essiedu said the book could help “unlock the futures” of students whose universities and educational opportunities have been devastated. What’s Up for Auction? The lineup also includes a signed Japan soccer jersey from Gary Lineker , an “I Swear” production hoodie from Maxine Peake , and the first poetry book owned by Juliet Stevenson . Charlotte Church is donating a place at her next wellness retreat, while Harriet Walter is offering her personal script from Donmar Warehouse’s all female “Julius Caesar” production plus a signed book. Additional lots include a necklace worn by Vanessa Redgrave in “Long Day’s Journey Into Night” and a vintage Christian Lacroix brooch from Janet Suzman , with Brian Cox and Paloma Faith also participating. Phoenix Space says hundreds of students have received offers from University College London, Imperial College London and the University of Edinburgh in fields including artificial intelligence and cognitive neuroscience, but cannot enroll without financial backing.
