Nicole Polizzi , known to Jersey Shore viewers as Snooki, said she is cancer free in a People interview published Sept. 18, nearly seven months after revealing a stage one cervical cancer diagnosis. Polizzi said doctors removed the cancer during a treatment journey that culminated in a hysterectomy in July. Polizzi said she delayed getting a Pap smear before finally seeking medical care, which led to a series of procedures followed by surgery. The reality star, who shares children Lorenzo, 13, Giovanna, 11, and Angelo, 6, with Jionni LaValle, said recovery still requires patience because doing too much can leave her exhausted and in pain. Snooki Is Using Her Story to Help Other Women Polizzi told People that her diagnosis initially felt terrifying because she did not know anyone facing cervical cancer. By speaking publicly, Polizzi said she hopes to create a safe space for women navigating similar diagnoses and treatment decisions. Polizzi said she is grateful to be on the other side of the ordeal, while still listening to her body and giving herself room to heal. The update is a major shift from the uncertainty she described at the start of her cancer journey, but Polizzi is keeping recovery day by day.
