Rihanna Fenty shooting suspect Ivanna Ortiz pleaded not guilty Wednesday, September 30, 2026, to all 14 counts in a newly unsealed indictment. Prosecutors accuse Ortiz of opening fire at Rihanna Fenty’s gated Los Angeles home in March while Rihanna Fenty, A$AP Rocky , their three children, and Rihanna’s mother were inside. The indictment keeps the attempted murder charge involving Rihanna Fenty and three felony counts alleging gunfire directed at an occupied home or camper. Ten additional assault charges were upgraded to allege the use of an assault weapon, replacing earlier allegations involving a semiautomatic firearm. What the New Indictment Reveals Rihanna Fenty and her mother, Monica Patricia Fenty, are listed as witnesses who testified before the grand jury during its secret proceedings. The witness list also names Hollywood agent Tracey Renee Jacobs, a neighbor who reportedly heard the shots, and a dog walker who allegedly saw a white vehicle leaving the area. The grand jury returned the indictment on June 18, but the document stayed sealed for more than three months while Ortiz underwent a competency evaluation. A judge found Ortiz competent to stand trial one day before the indictment became public. A police report alleges that bullets struck the nursery’s exterior wall and the windshield of an Airstream trailer in the driveway. Prosecutors said Rihanna Fenty was inside the trailer with A$AP Rocky when she heard roughly ten loud sounds, saw bullet holes in the windshield, pulled A$AP Rocky to the ground, and then moved with him to help secure their children and staff. Deputy District Attorney Alexander Bott said prosecutors view Rihanna Fenty as the sole intended target. “This is a person who wanted to kill Rihanna, and everyone else was collateral damage,” Bott said after the hearing.
