Rosie O'Donnell said on the August 14, 2026 episode of The Tangle podcast that Wynonna Judd is the only Donald Trump supporter she still regularly speaks with. O'Donnell said she separates her longtime friendship with Judd from her fierce opposition to Trump's politics. O'Donnell described Judd as someone she has known and loved for years, adding that Judd's difficult family history shapes the compassion she brings to the relationship. Judd's mother, country legend Naomi Judd, died by suicide in 2022, a loss O'Donnell cited while explaining why she chooses not to make politics the center of their interactions. How Does the Friendship Survive? “Somehow, we never bring it up,” O'Donnell said, according to the podcast interview. O'Donnell also said she cannot understand broader support for Trump, pointing to what she characterized as his cruelty, misogyny, racism, homophobia, and alleged criminal conduct. O'Donnell has spent decades sparring publicly with Trump and moved from the United States to Ireland after his 2024 reelection. While promoting her one woman Off Broadway show Common Knowledge and an upcoming guest host appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live , O'Donnell said Trump supporters have insulted her online but that she has not received physical threats.
