Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce received heartfelt messages from New York City first responder families after donating $26 million to charity following their July 3 wedding, according to Answer the Call. The nonprofit said the contribution will fund financial assistance for families of NYPD, FDNY, PAPD and EMS personnel killed in the line of duty. Answer the Call executive director Lauren Profeta previously thanked the couple for helping the organization keep its promise to support families who lost loved ones in service. The donation was part of a larger nationwide giving effort tied to Swift and Kelce’s celebration at Madison Square Garden. What Did The Donation Mean For Families? Patricia Polimeni, whose husband Detective Jack Polimeni died in 2020, said the gift offers grieving families more than money. In her message to the newlyweds, Polimeni described the organization’s support as a source of hope, comfort and community while families rebuild their lives after a devastating loss. Amanda Rivera, whose father William Rivera died in 2004, credited Answer the Call with helping her family find connection and new opportunities, including attending concerts and throwing out the first pitch at a New York Mets game. The broader $26 million donation also drew public thanks from charities across the country, including the Rhode Island Food Bank, whose appreciation was shared by Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee on July 3.
