William Shatner appeared to reveal during a recent CNN interview that his band, The *uckers, is slated for Coachella in 2027. The 95-year-old actor mentioned the festival while discussing upcoming shows, but Coachella organizers have not confirmed the booking. Shatner made the apparent disclosure while appearing with his daughter, Melanie Shatner Gretsch , on CNN with anchor Elex Michaelson. The pair co-host No Time But Now, a podcast about surviving stage four cancer and finding a renewed appreciation for life. Is William Shatner Really Going to Coachella? William Shatner’s heavy metal project will make its live debut at Chicago’s Riot Fest on September 20, with a set that combines songs from Shatner’s catalog and previews from the band’s first album, What the F Is Heavy Metal. The lineup includes guitarist Marcus Nand, bassist Phil Soussan, guitarist Britt Lightning, and drummer Fred Aching. “It’s all about passion,” Shatner said of performing with the band. William Shatner has released 12 studio albums since his 1968 spoken word record, The Transformed Man, working with artists including Ben Folds, Henry Rollins, Joe Jackson, Brad Paisley, Peter Frampton, and Iggy Pop. He also has another spoken word album scheduled for August. Riot Fest’s Shatner announcement came with a knowingly chaotic backstage rider featuring fire breathers, a DeLorean, four feet of Polish sausage, and adoptable puppies. If the Coachella tease is accurate, Shatner would follow that September festival debut with an April 2027 appearance in Indio.
